At West Holistic Medicine, lab work is often a key part of uncovering the root causes of your symptoms and tailoring care to your unique biology. Because we take a functional, whole-body approach, your provider may recommend a mix of standard and advanced lab testing. Here’s what to know about how we work with insurance, lab partners, and your budget.
Our integrative Approach to Lab Testing:
1. Your provider will likely recommend personalized lab work
Lab testing helps us go deeper — looking beyond surface symptoms to find imbalances in hormones, digestion, immunity, toxins, and more. All recommendations are personalized by your practitioner after reviewing your health history.
2. We use both conventional and functional lab tests:
Conventional Labs
Typically ordered through CPL, Quest, or Labcorp
Often covered by insurance, depending on your plan. Please check with your provider to find out which lab is in-network with an out-of-network doctor, and if they cover preventive labs or just illness/injury
Your provider will likely need CPT codes to determine coverage. Find yours below!
- Cash pay options available
Functional Med Labs
Typically ordered through Rupa or Genova Diagnostics
Not covered by insurance (except Medicare covers a few)
Cash pricing is transparent, and payment plans may be available
Depending on the labs needed, an electronic requisition will be made available to you, or test kits may be sent to your home. Completion instructions will always be included, and our team is here to help!
Cash Pay & Budgeting Options:
As we mentioned, some labs are simply not covered by insurance yet and we know that costs matter. If you have financial limitations or specific goals, we’re here to work with you. Your provider will:
• Prioritize essential labs
• Discuss options before ordering
• Offer affordable testing routes when possible
CPT Lab Codes
Your insurance company will likely request CPT codes to determine coverage. Please use your lab order requisition form to find yours below.
