Watermelon Cucumber Mint Spritz (Mocktail, Cocktail, or Popsicle)
The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year, and around here, that's basically permission to get outside, soak up some sunshine, and keep something cold nearby.
Water? Obviously. π
But if you're in the mood to make something a little more fun, refreshing, and versatile enough for the whole crew, you're in the right place.
This Watermelon Cucumber Mint Spritz comes together in just five minutes and features hydrating ingredients like watermelon, cucumber, lime, fresh mint, and a pinch of sea salt.
Enjoy it as a mocktail, add a splash of your favorite spirit for a summer cocktail, or pour it into popsicle molds for a naturally sweet frozen treat.
Plus, it's packed with ingredients our integrative medicine team appreciates for supporting hydration, digestion, and overall wellness during the hot summer months.
Why These Ingredients Earn Our Stamp of Approval
This one skips the long list of "superfood" add-ons. Every ingredient here is doing real work, and you probably already have most of them in your kitchen.
Watermelon
Made up of about 92% water, watermelon is one of the most hydrating fruits you can enjoy. It also provides vitamin C, vitamin A, potassium, and lycopene, an antioxidant associated with heart health and protection against oxidative stress. Its natural sweetness means there's little to no need for added sugar, making it an easy way to satisfy a sweet craving.
Cucumber
Cucumbers are another water-rich food and contain small amounts of potassium, magnesium, and fiber. They add a refreshing, spa-like flavor to this spritz while helping boost fluid intake during these warmer months.
Mint
Mint does more than make this drink pretty! It has traditionally been used to support digestion and may help soothe occasional bloating or indigestion. Plus, its cooling flavor pairs perfectly with watermelon and cucumber.
Lime & a Pinch of Sea Salt
Lime juice cuts the sweetness and adds a dose of vitamin C, which supports immune function and collagen production. A tiny pinch of sea salt can enhance flavor and provide sodium, an important electrolyte lost through sweat during the summer months. (Just remember, a little goes a long way!)
