1. Settle into your body

Get comfortable and take a deep, cleansing belly breath. When you inhale, feel your belly expand. When you exhale, feel your belly contract. And again.

2. Identify the Stress

What’s the heaviest thing on your mind right now? Try to identify a specific emotion (grief, anxiety, anger, fear, etc) and why? (Example: “I’m stressed about holiday shopping.”)

2. Rate It:

On a scale of 0-10, how intense is your emotion? Can you feel it anywhere in your body?

3. Start Tapping & Setup Statement

Gently start tapping on your “karate chop” point at whichever pace and pressure that feels best for you and repeat the following phrases. (Feel free to swap words that resonate best with you.)

“Even though I feel _______ when I think about the holidays, I still deeply and completely love myself.”

“When I think about the holidays, I feel ________ because _______________, but I deeply and completely accept myself anyway.”

“Even though I feel ________ because __________________, I deeply and completely accept myself anyway.”

4. Tapping Sequence:

Now, we will tap through the emotion that feels heaviest for you. We will inhale, say the statement, then exhale. Again, feel free to swap words to make them resonate for YOU.

Top of the Head (TH):
“This __________(emotion).”

Eyebrow (EB):
“This __________(emotion).”

Side of the Eye (SE):
“When I think about the holidays, I feel this __________(emotion).”

Under the Eye (UE):
“This __________(emotion) feels so heavy.”

Under the Nose (UN):
“But I deeply and completely love and accept myself anyway.”

Chin (CH):
“I am so grateful for the amazing things I get to enjoy this season, like ___________________.”

Collarbone (CB):
“Even if I still feel some of this __________(emotion), I am so grateful for this breath and this holiday season. “

Under the Arm (UA):

“Even if I still feel some of this __________(emotion), I deeply and completely accept myself anyway.” 

5. Reassess

Take a deep, cleansing breath or sip of water. Do you still feel the same emotions? On a scale of 1-10, how heavy is your emotion now? Do you still feel it in your body? If so, where? Repeat the sequence if needed until you feel lighter.
